my pepe was in the navy for 30 years. in his retirement he built model whaling ships. his grandfather, or grandfather's grandfather, kept a diary on the whaling ship. he had a tattoo of a whaling ship on his chest, which he added to at every port. the story is, he had 2 families--one on the east coast, one on the west.
the naval museum in madrid is a place pepe would have enjoyed. i was tickled on his behalf. most of the photos did not turn out well. there is a globe i can't even describe, but it has to do with the constellations.
